Main duties of the job
Leadership and Continuity: Your role will ensure a consistent leadership presence, providing continuous clinical care and support to the ward team. You will have the vital skill of recognising and responding effectively to the development needs of the clinical team, setting an exemplary model for attitude, communication, and behaviour, inspiring excellence in clinical care at every level.
Integrated Care: Your role will expand beyond the ward, overseeing operational responsibilities, and ensuring effective ward management in the Ward Manager's absence. You will be a crucial link in the continuum of care, creating opportunities for service users to receive the best inpatient care.
Clinical Support: Your responsibilities will encompass providing vital clinical support for patients with complex physical, mental, or neurodevelopmental needs, including safeguarding, care planning, referrals, and participation in complex case forums.
Championing Physical Health: Collaborate with the Physical Health Lead to champion physical health care, monitoring practices and referrals, and supporting staff in areas such as wound care, pressure sores, and physical observations.
Carers' Advocate: Act as a Carers Champion for the Ward, actively seeking to promote feedback from Service Users and Carers, aligning with the Trust's strategy.
Quality Improvement: Be a catalyst for quality improvement, actively promoting and supporting Quality Improvement initiatives.
