Longlisted candidates will be invited to an online open morning on Thursday 24th August 2023 with online interviews, for candidates invited following the open morning, the following week. The open morning will provide you with a greater understanding about Prospect Park Hospital with talks from employees, group exercises, and Q&A time.
The service comprises of:
- Four mixed 22 bed Acute Wards (Bluebell, Daisy, Rose & Snowdrop) providing care to adults with mental health conditions such as bipolar and schizophrenia.
- Orchid is a mixed 20 bed Ward that provides care for older adults with mental health conditions.
- Rowan is a modern 20 bedded ward that provides care for dementia patients.
- Place of Safety, where the police can use the Mental Health Act to take people to POS if they seem to have a mental illness and need care. Mental health professionals then assess patient's mental state and determine whether they require treatment or further support.
Main duties of the job
- Assist in the provision of care of patients.
- To work in support of the qualified nurses and be directed and supervised by them to undertake assigned tasks.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with patients through regular contact and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Ensure the confidentially of patients and clinical documents at all times.
- Report any complaints, untoward events, or incidents to qualified nursing staff, and where appropriate under their supervision, complete the appropriate records.
- To respect the dignity, privacy, and independence of patients always.
- Be involved in discussion on the development of patient centred programmes
- Be aware of patients on Mental Health Act restrictions and record/report accordingly to qualified staff.
- To respond to emergency calls under the guidance of qualified staff.
