We have a fantastic opportunity for a registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our Staff Health and Wellbeing Team on a permanent contract.

Our ergonomics service aims to reduce and prevent musculoskeletal injuries within our staff group and you would be a key member of the team. This role is an excellent opportunity to impact and influence staff wellbeing and direct patient care.

You will deliver manual handling education and training for all levels of staff as well as providing specialist manual handling advice and support to clinical and non-clinical teams. In addition to performing individual employee risk assessments for both manual handling and ergonomics.

This role is a part time Band 6 Ergonomic Advisor (Manual Handling Advisor). The office base for the role is at St Marks Hospital but you will be travelling across our Berkshire Healthcare sites and there is some flexibility to work from home when the service allows. Part time and job share options will be considered.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver evidenced based moving and handling training and education
  • Undertake individualised employee assessments on ergonomics and manual handling both virtually and face to face
  • Perform individualised risk assessments for patients with complex moving and handling needs
  • Undertaking advanced assessment of difficult and complex workplace issues. Subsequently, implement appropriate and evidence-based equipment provision, in order to reduce the risk of harm to patients, their carer's and staff
  • Assist with risk management, including datix incident management support and policy development
  • Promote health and wellbeing for trust employees
  • To deputise for the Senior Ergonomic Advisor in matters relating to the ergonomics team. This will include attending meetings, deputising for or making decisions with regards to other areas of Health and Wellbeing when required to do so
