Job summary

The health visiting team in West Berkshire have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nursery nurse to join our team. We are a friendly, supportive and inclusive team comprising health visitors, staff nurses, nursery nurses and administrators. We are looking for a motivated nursery nurse with a passion for working with children under 5 and their families who is keen to develop their skills and role within our team. The vacancy is fixed term for 12 months, working 3 days per week - Monday-Wednesday 9-5.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include.

  • Planning and delivering health enhancing activities for children and their families to include working in groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics, post natal groups and on an individual basis.
  • Supporting families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families as identified by the health visitor.
  • Supporting breastfeeding and parent infant relationships applying the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
