We have a new and exciting opportunity to work in the Personal Safety team based at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading. As a service we are committed to providing solutions to clinical teams to reduce violence, aggression, and reducing restrictive practices using models of best practice and technological solutions.

You will be supporting the Personal Safety and PMVA Lead in the development and delivery of personal safety training across the Trust, supporting clinical teams in reducing frequency, severity and impact of violence and the use of restrictive interventions, and acting as a Trust representative in the field of violence and aggression.

With experience in the field of Prevention & Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA), you would assist the Personal Safety and PMVA Lead in representing the Trust in promoting training and support strategies in personal safety and reducing restrictive practice internally as well as externally.

Main duties of the job

To ensure compliance with relevant core standards and targets within local teams

To ensure cost effective delivery of personal safety training

To deliver effective training that supports personal safety training plans

To support clinical teams in reducing frequency, severity and impact of violence and the use of restrictive interventions

To lead the department in the absence of the Personal Safety and PMVA Lead

The "must haves" for you to be considered for this role

  • Professional qualification in mental health/learning disability nursing or other registered clinician at Degree level
  • GSA Tutor or willing to undertake this training
  • First Aid at work trained or willing to undertake the training
  • Teaching qualification eg. PTLLS or willing to undertake the training
  • 2 year's clinical experience of inpatient mental health or learning disability settings (in line with RRN training standards)
  • Experience of applying physical intervention techniques in practice
