We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced neonatal nurse to join our team and develop the role of neonatal governance lead managing and co-ordinating all aspects of clinical risk, governance and improve 'Badgernet' data quality.
The Neonatal Governance lead will be responsible for contributing to the provision of a first-class service to patients by ensuring the Directorate meets NHS clinical governance objectives and targets. This is a vital role that has a major impact on developing a clinical governance culture and ensuring patient safety.
Our teams aspire to provide high quality and evidence based; clinical, developmental, and family integrated care to ensure the best outcomes for our babies and their families. As the Neonatal Governance Lead the post holder will take responsibility for leading investigations of significant events and serious incidents, producing and monitoring action plans. Providing support and information for staff to learn from incidents, taking into consideration human factors, route cause analysis pathways and assurance that change in practice has been embedded to prevent re-occurrence.
Main duties of the job
Within this role you will lead on all governance issues , working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will lead on any issues that arise within the department including Serious Incident Reviews and Root Cause Analysis.
They will promote a non blame environment where clinical governance and patient safety are paramount to the service.
The role includes the risk management and the investigation of all incidents and complaints. This will be fed back in weekly and monthly meetings
This will be done in a non-judgmental learning environment always allowing staff to reflect on their practice.
Essential skills include being a visible accessible leader, excellent communication skills always remaining confidential and empathetic at all times.
This role includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures in collaboration with the team.
