Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is offering and exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join the hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated and enthusiastic Nurse with a genuine interest is palliative care, along with a commitment to continuous learning, team working and mutual support.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist contributes to the provision of specialist palliative care in the acute hospital setting for patients facing life-limiting illness (within the remit of a multidisciplinary team). Accepting patient referrals to an agreed criteria and managing the caseload with support from the Matron for Palliative and End of Life Care.
They will provide advice, support and education to patients, their loved ones and other health and social care professionals. They will contribute to the development and smooth running of the specialist palliative care service in the acute trust.
The post holder will work to agreed professional, departmental and trust boundaries as required to provide patient centred holistic care.
You should be motivated creative and enthusiastic
Have a broad and extensive experience of working with acutely unwell patients and terminally ill adults.
Have excellent interpersonal skills
the ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
Hold a first degree and post registration qualifications
Demonstrate significant teaching experience
