Job summary
We are seeking a highly committed and motivated band 7 IBD nurse specialist to join our IBD multidisciplinary team working across two sites here at Warrington and Halton teaching hospital .
The post requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual with advanced clinical skills and non-medical prescriber who can work autonomously and as a key member of the IBD MDT
The role involves assessing and initiating treatment plans, virtual and face to face nurse led clinics, educational clinics, managing a busy telephone advice line and email service and inpatient support.
Providing education and supporting IBD patients and their families to understand and to manage their condition is integral to the role.
Main duties of the job
IBD is a very complex disease that can affect many aspects of a patient's life, it is an area of increasing research and so care of these patients is evolving each year and the nursing service must be able to react and adapt to these changes. A commitment to individualized evidence-based patient care and the ability to act sensitively with empathy as well as possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential.
