If so, the Acute Medical Unit is looking for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our already established nursing team. We are fortunate to have a senior nursing team who are committed to the development and progression of team members on AMU. We are also privileged to have practice-based educator to support in development of clinical skills and competencies for the nursing team.

As a Band 5 registered nurse on AMU you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care, working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team in providing patient-centered care.

Overview of area

The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) itself is a 36 bedded mixed sex, busy, vibrant environment that has strong links with other areas within the Urgent and Emergency Care CBU.

AMU admits patients from the Emergency Department with a wide variety of medical conditions, a treatment plan is initiated, and patients are then transferred to the most appropriate area of the Hospital generally within 72 hours.

Main duties of the job

You will be an approachable, pro-active and a dedicated nurse with sound clinical skills. We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy, challenging environment. You will also possess excellent communication skills, time management and organizational skills.

The post holder will be responsible as a registered nurse to always act in the best interests of our patients. You should have the ability to work autonomously as well as being accountable for your own actions and decisions. You will be required to be open, transparent and trustworthy.

The post holder will ensure the effective delivery of service to patients within the Trust by working in line with Trust protocols and recommended practice
