Job summary
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals wishes
to appoint a Locum Breast Consultant for a period of 12 months to support our
team.
You will play a key role alongside our Breast Consultants
in the development and delivery of Breast services.
Main duties of the job
Our new breast unit is fully
equipped to deliver a modern breast service with two digital mammography suites
including tomography, two ultrasound clinic rooms, consultation and counselling
rooms.
The position is a 10 PA post
and comprises of Theatre, MDT and Outpatient clinics.
Our department has an active
interest in clinical audit including contributing data for national audits and
NCEPOD surveys.
We run a formal teaching
programme and would support the candidate in Clinical and Educational
supervision of junior doctors.

The post is based at the newly
built Breast Care Centre within The Captain Sir Thomas Moore (CSTM) building in
Runcorn.

will play a key role alongside our other Breast Consultants in the development
and delivery

Breast Services.
Teaching/Audit
There
is an organised formal teaching programme for both postgraduates and medical
Students.
The department would support in
Clinical and Educational supervision of junior doctors across the trust.
Clinical
Governance
The
post holder will be required to participate in the Trusts and the Clinical
Business Units Governance activities.
Yearly appraisal is expected.
Mentoring and support will be
available for the candidate to approach appraisal and revalidation.

- Fully registered with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of interview date
- CCT / CESR / European Community Rights
- An appropriate higher surgical qualification

- Postgraduate thesis or higher degree
