We are seeking enthusiastic and driven individual to join our dynamic and progressive team. The appointee will be expected to participate on our 1:11 General Surgery On-Call Rota.
You will play a key role alongside our UGI and General Surgery Consultants in the development and delivery of UGI and General Surgery Services.
Main duties of the job
On-Call (Warrington Site)
Our on-call rota includes working weekend, weekday on-calls and covering Non-Resident Nights.
The on-call includes a fallow week "Off Week with no commitments" to compensate the hot week on-call.
Theatres
Each Consultant has 3 theatres per week, and these will be based at either Warrington, Nightingale, Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) at Halton.
Endoscopy
The Endoscopy service has excellent leadership which is demonstrated by a supportive and encouraging culture for staff learning, training and progression. This is a busy unit with staff passionate about the care that is provided. The unit carries out a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including bowel cancer screening, therapeutic ERCP, oesophageal stenting, PEG, EMR and oesophageal ph and manometry. The successful post holder will be expected to undertake 1 Endoscopy session each week
Outpatient Clinics
Each Consultant has 2 clinics per week. Usual template for clinic is 6 new patients and 6 follow up with additional patients for ST3+ resident doctors. One of our physician associates works alongside two general surgeons in clinics and one will work alongside UGI. Clinics operate across both hospital sites within the trust and candidates may undertake clinic sessions at one or both sites.
