Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the General Surgery Team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be based at Warrington Hospital, however, may be required to work at Halton Hospital on occasion if the service requires. We offer a free shuttle bus service between both sites.

The successful candidates will join a dynamic and enthusiastic surgical team providing high quality care to the population of Warrington and Halton.

Main duties of the job

The main duties include participating in a 1:8 on call rota, covering long days, weekends, and nights, you will be required to support Consultants in theatres, attending Outpatients clinics across Warrington and Halton sites and ward rounds.

Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Trust currently have ten substantive consultant Surgeons providing a wide range of general surgical and subspecialty services including:

Colorectal

UGI

Breast

The Team is mainly located at Warrington Hospital; however, we do also work across the other two site: Halton Hospital and CSTM (Captain Sir Tom Moore building)

The General Surgery Team are based on Appleton Wing at Warrington Hospital and have a Seminar room which they share with the Gastroenterology Team.
