Medical Engineer / Senior Medical Engineer

Job summary

The postholder is required to carry out acceptance testing, electrical safety testing, planned maintenance and repairs on equipment maintained by the Medical Engineering department.

Main duties of the job

To carry out acceptance testing, electrical safety testing, planned maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment, most of which will be complex and, at times, patient connected.

  • Experience in the field of medical equipment / electronic equipment maintenance.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience of using engineering tools and test equipment

Qualifications

  • Degree / qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge, in engineering or science.

Desirable

  • Aware of electrical safety testing techniques and standards.

  • oExperience of using IT equipment and software including Microsoft Office to produce reports.

  • oExperience of working within a quality management system e.g., ISO 9001, 13485
