Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals for an enthusiastic, flexible, and well-motivated individual to join the pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Porter. The role is band 2 working 37.5 hours per week to include weekend, late night and bank holiday working on a rotational basis.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with a good standard of education. GCSE grade C in Mathematics and English language (or equivalent) are essential. Prioritisation of work, time management and a good level of fitness are needed.
As a Pharmacy Porter, you will be part of a small pharmacy stores team of around 20 members of staff. The pharmacy stores team is part of the much larger pharmacy team which has around 130 members of staff in various roles which cover both Warrington and Halton Hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
The role of Pharmacy Porter is based at Warrington Hospital and is fast paced. The role will offer the chance to work with multidisciplinary teams to provide an efficient pharmacy delivery service which involves -
Transporting medicinal products to wards and departments,controlled medicinal products to wards and departments,discharge prescriptions and discharge prescriptions containing controlled medicinal products to wards in a timely manner to aid in patient flow.
Assisting with loading deliveries into the pharmacy automated storage system whilst maintaining the flow of medicinal products requiring delivery outside of the pharmacy department.
Keeping accurate and detailed records of deliveries made and assisting with housekeeping duties when required.
Weekday hours to be confirmed in line with service needs. (Between 08:45 - 19:00)
Weekends and bank holidays will be worked on a rota basis, (hours to be confirmed in line with service needs).
