Therapy Manager - Occupational Therapist

Are you a Band 6 or Band 7 Occupational Therapist looking to take the next step in your career?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to take up the role of Clinical Team Manager within the Orthopaedic In-patient Therapy Service. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. You must be organised, flexible and able to empower others, with the ability to implement and drive change across the service.

Being part of the senior therapy team, the post holder will work alongside the Physiotherapy Clinical Team Manager, Clinical Leads, and the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure the safe and timely provision of therapy to support both the trauma and elective aspects of the service.

The post holder will be required to have in depth understanding and experience of working within this specialist area. Additionally, the postholder will have a comprehensive understanding of the 'Home First' approach to patient care, where health and care systems work together to provide a safe and timely discharge of people who no longer need to stay in hospital.

Main duties of the job

Provide day-to-day management, including supervision and development of staff, annual leave, sickness, initial handling of complaints. Ensure that standards of professional practice are adhered to from a personal and team perspective, and in accordance with the Trust's governance framework.

Utilise highly developed specialist skills in the assessment and treatment of own caseload of patients, developing specialised programmes of care individually and/or in groups as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a variety of settings.

Be able to able to prioritise and allocate within the team the clinical caseload in line with the changing and competing demands of the service.
