Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic radiographer who is qualified in mammography to join our friendly multi-disciplinary breast team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at The Breast Care Centre within the Captain Sir Tom Moore Building at Halton Hospital. This role is primarily clinically based where you will undertake mammography procedures as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme and our Symptomatic Breast Service.
You will hold a BSc. in Radiography or equivalent, have completed a UK recognised post graduate qualification in mammography and have current mammography experience with HCPC registration. A full UK driving license and use of a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
We are at a very exciting phase in our development. In 2021 we moved into our new, purpose-built base - The Breast Care Centre, which is situated within The Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) building at Halton hospital, Runcorn. Our centre consists of 2 Mammography rooms, both with 3D imaging and stereotactic facilities, 2 Ultrasound rooms and 3 clinic rooms.
We have recently expanded our Breast Screening service at Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre in the centre of Warrington. We officially opened our new, larger area, with 2 mammography rooms dedicated to breast screening on Thursday 22d June 2023. In addition to this we have just purchased a brand-new Breast Screening mobile unit, which visits 5 locations within the area.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of our highly skilled team and be actively involved in producing high quality, diagnostic mammography examinations for the NHS Breast Screening Programme and our Symptomatic Breast Service.
You will contribute to our family history, breast cancer follow-up and screening assessment clinics. Perform additional imaging including, magnification views and digital breast tomosynthesis. Also assisting our Advanced Practitioners and Radiologists with stereotactic interventional breast procedures
Rotation between our 3 static screening/symptomatic sites to include The Breast Care Centre at Halton Hospital, St Helen's Hospital (Burney Breast Unit) and Bath Street Health and wellbeing Centre. And our mobile breast screening unit which visits 5 sites within the area.
