Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner

We are on an exciting journey to transform the Hand Therapy service within the Trust and have recently brought the teams on each site into a unified integrated team.

As a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will be based on the Halton site to provide Occupational Therapy interventions in an outpatient setting. You will receive competency-based training in Occupational Therapy. Following this you will continue to receive support from our Therapy teams to enable you to deliver high quality therapy interventions to the best of your ability.

The Service operates a Monday to Friday service, currently covering the hours of 8.30 - 4.30, not including bank holidays and weekends. You will be expected to work your hours across four of those days

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a small multidisciplinary team that includes: Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants and Administrators.

You will have the opportunity to provide a service in the following areas:

  • Assessment of hand conditions
  • Provision of therapy and splints
  • Run Hand Therapy groups
  • Administration tasks such as ordering stock
  • Some housekeeping duties
