Senior Therapy Assistant Rapid Response Team

Job summary

The Rapid Response Team are looking to recruit a band 3 therapy assistant! The senior therapy assistant's role is to support qualified therapists in providing assessment and discharge planning for patient in the Emergency Department and admittance wards at Warrington Hospitals. Tasks may include supporting assessments in a busy Emergency Department, speaking with patients and family members about preadmission levels of function, managing equipment provision for the team and reviewing patients mobility in preparation for a timely discharge. Therapy assistants interact with other professional team members of the Emergency Department and wards as well as patients and their families, this means our ideal candidate must be confident, enjoy working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team and be able to demonstrate a desire to actively participate in all aspects of this role.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team and supporting patients to return home in a safe and timely manner from the hospital. Essential skills such as good verbal and written language as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required. Alongside supporting patients in clinical areas, the job will entail some none clinical management of the teams equipment store and administration tasks. Experience of working / caring for patients in an inpatient setting would be of benefit as the role is primarily patient focused. The service hours of Rapid Response are 08:00 until 19:00 over 7 days. The successful candidate will be required every other weekend.
