Job summary
Medical care are looking to recruit an experienced, highly organised support secretary to provide an efficient service to the Consultants, Doctor, Nurses and Medical secretary team.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
You will require a high level of tact, diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively.
Strengths essential to the role would include the ability to work independently utilising own skills and initiative without the need for supervision in an organised efficient and effective manner. Post holders are expected to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the service. Knowledge and experience working within the medical sector, a familiarity with medical computer systems and experience working within a similar role is desirable but if not, training will be given.
Main duties of the job
- Audio typing of clinical correspondence.
- Provide administration support for the Secretarial/Administrative teams including filing, post distribution.
- Collection and delivery of patients notes if required.
- Liaising with other departments across the hospital.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge or Word, Excel, Internet and email systems.
- Supporting the secretarial team during absence and sickness.
- Cross cover between departments as and when needed
