Job summary
To provide effective reception and clerical support within the Cardio-Respiratory Department on both sites.
The confidential nature of all work concerning patients must be understood and safeguarded.
Main duties of the job
- General reception duties including answering the telephone and dealing with all enquiries respectively.
- Regular communication with wards, GPs, outpatients using written and verbal communication
- Act as necessary to ensure patient DNA's are recorded and dealt with in line with trust protocols.
- Assisting the Cardio-Respiratory service manager and waiting list team leader with general administration duties including taking telephone messages when they are unavailable.
- Filing and distribution of al test reports and results.
- Retrieval and tracking of case notes when required.
- To assist the waiting list team with general administration duties including taking telephone messages when they are unavailable.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all quality standards.
- To adhere to all trust policies and procedures - to keep up to date with all mandatory training.
- Work within trust/department guidelines/protocols.
- Undertake all administrative procedures pertaining to role including reception duties.
- Ensure calls are answered in a timely manner and dealt with professionally and appropriately.
- Always be respectful and professional to both patients and members of staff at all levels, in accordance with expected trust 'Behaviours'.
- Close liaison with primary care and hospitals/providers is required to ensure data is transferred correctly and in line with trust policies and procedures.
