You will be joining an inclusive, diverse and engaged workforce and support our "moving to outstanding" journey. We are currently recruiting for a UEC Ward Clerk/Receptionist to join our Urgent & Emergency Care team.

The pattern of work operates across three shifts: Early shift 7.15am-3.15pm, Late shift 2.15pm-10.15pm and night shift 22.00pm-07.30am, Including weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

  • The successful candidates will provide full administrative support to the Emergency Department ensuring that patients are registered accurately in an efficient and timely manner.
  • You will be responsible for inputting appropriate patient information onto the electronic patient system, ensuring the patient demographic data is updated and answering telephone queries.
  • The role will also include filing records, scanning, and booking patient appointments.
  • Previous experience as an Administration Clerk with a working knowledge of a ward environment would be desirable. Good communication and time management skills are essential.
  • Applicants should have reception experience and should have an excellent attendance record.
  • You should be a calm, organized and well-motivated person with a positive and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with patients and their families; therefore, excellent communication skills are vital. You should possess good keyboard, IT and interpersonal skills. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and have a flexible approach to your working hours.
