Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Halton Pre op department. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 4 Nursing Associate to work within the Pre op unit.

We aim to create and maintain an environment in which all members of the ward /department team can contribute to the maximum.

This includes assisting the Band 6 nurses with patient outcomes, investigation results and patient triage. Taking patient history is also an integral part of the role.

The successful candidate would ideally have some experience within a surgical setting

Main duties of the job

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a committed professional with excellent interpersonal skills to further develop their experience in a supportive environment within a forward thinking Trust.

The post holder will work clinically as a valued member of the Team and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of patient care.

Pre-operative Assessment is a very busy unit and committed to developing and supporting staff with their career.

Be responsible for planning, delivering and supervising safe and compassionate care, and evaluating the effectiveness of care, without supervision. You will be required to demonstrate strong leadership qualities and be open, transparent and trustworthy. To participate in audit and research within the Clinical Business Unit.

The post holder will actively support Nursing and other multi-disciplinary staff in delivering care based on appropriate patient assessments, treatment planning and discharge planning.

To support staff in the development of clinical procedures, protocols, and practice to ensure the effective delivery of service to patients within the Trust.

To undertake all relevant forms of care with minimal supervision and delegate work appropriately to other members of the ward team.

To identify and initiate processes and procedures for the effective management of housekeeping and administration duties.

  • Previous experience of working within the NHS.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent.
  • Assistant Practitioner Qualification.
  • Key skills level 2 in English and Maths.
