Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated housekeeper to join our friendly and dynamic ward team on Ward A4 at Warrington Hospital.
We are seeking an individual who is keen to make a difference, to maintain a safe, clean environment for both patients and staff to a high standard, and to work as part of the team contributing to providing outstanding care for our patients and promoting positive patient experience.
You will work alongside the Ward Manager, to maintain high standards on the ward, with infection control, health and safety, patient safety and quality improvement.
You will be caring, patient and attentive and have excellent communication skills. The skills to build strong and trusting relationships with staff and other agencies. It is important you work well as part of a team as you will work alongside qualified nurses and staff from other professions. You will also be able to work autonomously, taking your own initiative and also, being able to prioritise your own workload is essential.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness of clinical equipment and the cleanliness of areas where the equipment is stored.
To work as an integral part of the team ensuring a high-quality service to patients. To be responsible for the coordination of all patient facilities in the ward, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
To assume a supervisory role over the domestic/cleaning team for the Ward, as determined by the Ward Manager and liaise with the support services/estates department.
To ensure staff carry out cleaning tasks in accordance with the housekeeping and cleaning manual.
To establish a pleasant and welcoming, dementia friendly environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward, participate in audits and environmental checklists, highlighting deficiencies in the service.
