Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHSFT

Senior Healthcare Assistant

The closing date is 13 October 2025

Job summary

If you are an overseas national who would require a Certificate of Sponsorship from the Trust to ensure your Right to Work in the UK, the Band 3 Healthcare worker role is unable to offer this if you are new to the NHS (or have less than 2 years' service as Band 3 in the NHS) and therefore your starting salary would be £24,169.

This is due to a change in the increased salary threshold advised by the UK Home Office on 12th March 2025, stating that Employer sponsorship will only be available for starting salaries above £25,000. If you apply for the role and this restriction applies to you, your application would be automatically rejected prior to shortlisting stage.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team on the Respiratory Unit/Ward B18 at Warrington Hospital. Previous experience in acute healthcare is highly desirable, however training will be provided on the job and the successful candidate will be supported to develop their knowledge and skills.

Ward B18 is a busy and acute setting where we care for patients who need treatment for their respiratory conditions. We care for a wide range of patients and are looking for an individual who is skilled, flexible and adaptable to the challenges of caring for these individuals.

Main duties of the job

Please see job description and person specification attached to this advert.

To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher. You can find more information on theGovernment website. Please review your eligibility and the eligibility of the role before submitting your application.
