ENT Locum Consultant

Job summary

We are seeking applications for a Locum consultant ENT surgeon with a special interest in the Otology and/or Head and Neck.

The department are committed to learning and development of surgical trainees and middle grade doctors and teaching will be part of the role.

There is a robust clinical audit programme which is multi-disciplinary and occurs once per month and the post holder will be expected to lead clinical audits.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role include independent management of all patients under your care, in particular your area of sub specialism. This includes independent surgical management of your caseload.

The post holder will be expected to join the on call rota which is 1:4 (prospective cover) for weekdays and evenings and 1:10 for weekends which is a regional on call.

Duties of the PostWarrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a full time ENT Consultant with asub specialism in Otology and/or Head and Neck to provide both elective and emergency care of ENT patients.The candidate appointed will work on both the Warrington and Halton hospital sites for both theatres andoutpatient clinics.This is a full-time post in ENT amounting to 10 PAs.Applicants are required to be a Registered Medical Practitioner, MBCHB or equivalent, to be fully registered withthe General Medical Council and listed on the Specialist Register or due to be registered within six months of thedate of appointment.Responsibilities of the PostResponsibilities for the new post will include supporting provision of emergency and elective activity in thedepartment. The post holder will be encouraged to develop sub-specialty interests in Head and Neck and/orOtology which will be supported by the CBU to ensure job satisfaction and sustainability of services.The current on call system has a commitment, of 1:4 (prospective cover) rota for weekdays and evenings atWarrington, and 1:10 rota for weekends (combined rota with Arrowe Park Hospital & Countess of ChesterHospitals) for ENT emergencies.
