Position Details:
- Role: Emergency Clinical Fellow
- Duration: Fixed-term 1-year contract, with opportunities to extend
- Hours: As per Departmental needs, will include dayshifts, late-shifts and night shifts.
- Requirements: Applicants must be GMC-registered and have completed UK Foundation training, with some experience in Emergency Medicine. A keen interest in advancing your clinical and practical skills within a supportive team environment is essential.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine at Warrington, you'll have the opportunity to take on a variety of clinical roles, including:
Clinical assessment and management of patients attending the Emergency Department.
Working in the Adult ED, Paediatric ED, ED Ambulatory (based on SDEC) or in the Minor Injuries Unit.
Develop emergency care skills and procedures required for ED clinicians e.g. insertion of chest drains, cardioversions, procedural sedation
You'll also have one-day a week to develop a specialist interest in orthopaedic trauma management. You will be able to attend trauma meetings, fracture clinics and trauma theatre sessions to further your insight into the management of orthopaedically admitted patients. There will also be scope for research, quality improvement, education and leadership development within that specialty. This will be discussed with the ED team on your appointment to post and you will have an opportunity to tailor your specialist activities with your orthopaedic supervisor.
