Job summary
We
are looking for a 0.6wte Clinical Psychologist to work primarily in the Exeter-based
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Psychology Service. We provide psychological
interventions to people aged 18 plus, who have a diagnosis of FND with
functional seizures. We are part of a wider FNS pathway that involves
professionals from other disciplines to support people living with this
diagnosis.
You will work alongside Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists, Medics,
Speech and Language therapists, Social Workers and Community Nurses. You will
maintain and develop relationships with partner agencies and local providers.
You will receive regular clinical and management supervision from within the
wider health and neuropsychology team.
The Clinical Psychology team is a valuable and valued part of the
Community Health and Social Care Team service. We work closely with our

We are looking for candidates with an
interest in and experience of working with individuals with long term health
conditions, particularly neurological conditions or persistent physical
symptoms.
Main duties of the job
- To ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality psychological service to patients seen within the FND Psychology Service and will include managing a waiting list with support from the relevant Professional Lead.
- To regularly attend, chair and contribute to the FND MDT
- To carry a specialist caseload of patients and providing advice and consultancy to patients and professionals.
- To provide clinical supervision to less experienced staff and trainees working in the service.
- To provide teaching to other DPT staff, and consultation for complex and challenging case work.
- As directed by the Professional and Strategic Leads embed practice-based evidence and evidence-based practice across service area. This will include implementing and collating data from service outcome measures to support key performance indicators and to demonstrate the impact of the service, as well as working with people using the service to ensure their involvement in service design and evaluation.
- The post holder will work collaboratively to ensure a whole systems integrated approach to service delivery and development and will support wider Integrated Psychological Medicine (IPMS) developments. All staff within the CHNP services will be responsible for ensuring involvement and experience, social inclusion and race equality agendas inform and support their work.
