Job summary
The North Devon Adult Community Mental Health Team is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and multi-skilled receptionist to join its busy administration team. The Team supports Mental Health Services across North Devon. The post holder will work 15 hours per week, on a Thursday and Friday based at the NDDH Health and Wellbeing Clinic.
Main duties of the job
The post holder provides administrative support across all services using the building, ensuring the effective operation of the office environment, front of house functions, and secretarial support to operational staff.
Manage reception duties, handling enquiries that may require researching information, and act as the first point of contact for all telephone calls.
The role involves frequent communication with a wide range of services and individuals, developing strong professional relationships both within the building and externally.
The post holder uses various manual and computerised systems, including room booking calendars, patient records and postal logging processes.
Signpost staff and visitors to appointments, inform teams of arrivals, and ensure timely responses. They also maintain the reception area, ensuring information is current, well stocked, accessible and professionally presented. All communication must comply with patient confidentiality requirements.
The post holder may act as the contact point during emergency situations, providing administrative coordination under the direction of a Senior Manager, including recording calls and logging responses. Training will be provided.
