Job summary

Our vibrant Teign Core Adult Community Mental Health team based in Newton Abbot is looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic, motivated MDT, delivering high quality mental services in our community. As one of the leading providers of mental health services in the country, we welcome applications from registered Mental Health Nurses, Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers.

We are a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team working closely together to deliver a wide range of care through treatment pathways and evidence-based interventions, supporting people with complex mental health needs in the community. The role involves assessment, care planning, risk management, and therapeutic interventions, alongside contributing to service development.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of the full pathway from triage to assessment and treatment. Using goal based outcomes to support a patient centered approach in their recovery journey.

Working with the team you would be encouraged to share development ideas and consider any new initiatives that may bring positive improvements to the service.

With a mixed case load you will be supported in any training that can support your career development and your professional skills, competencies and interests.

  • An understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
  • Mentoring students in line with professional requirements
