An exciting opportunity to join the team for Adults with a Learning Disability at the Regional Learning Disability and Autism Unit in Dawlish (The Brook).

The Unit provides assessment and treatment to people with a Learning Disability and / or Autistic People who have a Mental Health condition and/or demonstrate distress through their behaviour.The service aims to become a centre of excellence.

The role exists to provide the Learning Disability and Autism Inpatient unit with a Registered Nurse who has the professional knowledge and skills to ensure safe and high quality care. The Registered Nurse will use the framework of Positive Behavioural Support to provide assessment, interventions and evaluation for health & wellbeing needs.The job offers a challenging yet rewarding environment with opportunities to consistently learn.

Main duties of the job

  • To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate individual care plans.
  • To provide named nursing role to people who use our service.
  • To be able to risk assess and safety plan
  • To manage and lead clinical nursing shifts
  • To participate in the internal rotation system including shift and weekend working

  • Degree / HE Diploma level
  • Evidence of taking responsibility for meeting Compulsory and Essential training in previous post.
