Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of mothers and babies? Join our dedicated team at the Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) in Exeter and its linked Outreach Team, providing specialist mental health care during the perinatal period.

This unique role offers variety and impact working across an eight-bed inpatient unit and supporting families in the community. You will collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team, contribute to assessments and reviews, and help shape the future of perinatal mental health services.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months which offers 7.5 Programmed Activities.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Speciality doctor on the MBU includes being part of a MDT team and playing an active part in the team meetings and ward reviews. The role includes completing assessments and reviews of patients outside of these MDT meetings.

The postholder will also provide a degree of cover during periods when the Consultant is on leave. A named Responsible Clinician will always be allocated to provide oversight and be available on the ward if required, ensuring safe and supported clinical practice at all times.
