Job summary

As a result of promotion of the existing post-holder, an exciting opportunity is available at Meadow View for a 9-month Secondment as Ward Manager.

Meadow View is a 16 bedded ward for Older Adults with a Functional Mental Illness.

Main duties of the job

As Ward Manager you will responsible for ensuring the continued delivery of effective, high-quality care at Meadow View.

To achieve this the Ward Manager will be expected to ensure that:

  • Safe Staffing Levels are in place - this will be through the combination of good rostering practices, management of sickness absence, effective and efficient use of temporary staffing, active recruitment of new staff where vacancies arise and active retention of current staff, effective management of Flexible Working.
  • Staff Wellbeing is prioritised - this will be through ensuring Supervision and Career Conversations are facilitated in a supportive, constructive and consistent manner, ensuring opportunities for debrief and reflective practice are available to all staff, ensuring staff development is focussed and individualised, and through being open and responsive to individual and collective needs as they arise.
  • High Quality patient care is provided - this will be through ensuring that staff have access to and complete training relevant to their roles, ensuring that there are clear and robust Clinical processes in place, facilitating Learning from Experience and from Patient and Carer feedback.
