About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor Psychiatrist to join the newly established Treat Team within the Eastern Rehabilitation Services at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. This innovative team supports the community initiation of clozapine and provides expert care for individuals with complex psychosis across the region.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including a consultant psychiatrist, senior pharmacist, support workers, and a pharmacy technician, delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess patients suitability for clozapine, explain risks and benefits, and contribute to ongoing monitoring during treatment initiation.
- Undertake patient reviews in hospitals and at home, requiring travel across the region (pool car available).
- Attend weekly team meetings and participate in multidisciplinary discussions.
- Formulate comprehensive diagnostic assessments and develop tailored management plans, including prescribing clozapine and long-acting injections.
- Provide in-reach to acute wards and support early intervention for individuals with complex psychosis.
- Support the consultant on the Russell Clinic ward, including Mental Health Act responsibilities.

- Has completed at least four years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis)
