Job summary

Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join the DAANA Service, based at Forde House. This is a permanent, part-time post (22.5 hours per week), offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a specialist psychological service.

Shortlisting is scheduled to take place in the first week of January and invitations to interview will be sent to shortlisted candidates shortly after.

About the Role

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting the delivery of high-quality psychological care to service users. Under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist, you will contribute to assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation of outcomes, in line with service objectives and evidence-based practice.

About You

  • An undergraduate degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working with people experiencing mental health difficulties, preferably within an NHS or similar setting
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and person-centred care

Main duties of the job

  • Assist with psychological assessments, including clinical interviews and the use of psychometric measures
  • Support the delivery of psychologically informed interventions, both individually and in group settings
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and outcome monitoring
  • Assist with data collection, audit, service evaluation, and research activities
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with Trust policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team
