Job summary
We are recruiting three full-time Band 6 Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor (trainee or trained) to join Children and Family Health Devon within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) and Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) services.
The role supports an early intervention pathway for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and low mood, and contributes to whole-school approach work in education settings. For trainee applicants, there is an opportunity to complete the PGCert in Clinical Supervision of Psychological Therapies Practice at the University of Exeter.
MHSTs across Devon and Torbay include Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and CWPs who deliver evidence-based interventions in schools. The post-holder will provide clinical supervision, support staff practice, and help maintain consistent and safe care. Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide clinical supervision to EMHPs and CWPs working within the MHST and CWP pathways. The role includes supporting staff to deliver evidence-based low intensity interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
You will contribute to the delivery and development of the early intervention pathway, including supporting whole-school approach activity in partnership with education settings. You will ensure safe, effective, and consistent practice across the team, and contribute to service improvement within a developing and expanding model.
You will work closely with colleagues across Children and Family Health Devon, maintain accurate clinical documentation, use routine outcome measures, and participate in supervision, training, and professional development.
