Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 professional to join us to assist in providing an expert moving and handling/ergonomic service to DPT.
This role will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate and competent moving and handling training (both clinical and non-clinical) to all the mental health, neurodiversity and learning difficulties services within Devon Partnership Trust.
The post holder with the support of the Moving & Handling/Ergonomics Lead will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of safe, meaningful and cost effective training to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees, patients and others who may be involved with, or affected by moving and handling activities
Main duties of the job
The suitable candidate will demonstrate genuine passion and enthusiasm for moving and handling. Working alongside the Moving and Handling / Ergonomic Lead, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a trust-wide, bespoke training programme. This programme will be tailored to meet the diverse needs of patients including those with mental health conditions, neurodiverse profiles, learning disabilities, and physical health complexities as well as the varying needs of staff.
It is essential that you are able to work autonomously and reliably, be a good organiser, communicator be confident and physically fit enough to perform both clinical and non-clinical moving and handling techniques and equipment demonstrations on a frequent basis.
In this role, you will be actively involved in maintaining and enhancing safety systems and processes and applying and integrating into to various clinical/patient risks to help reduce the risk of harm.
Mobility across the organisation is essential as the suitable candidate will be expected to work across the whole trust.
