Job summary
A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled pharmacy technician to further advance their professional capabilities within the area of mental health. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with complex psychosis as part of the Trusts improvement priority around psychosis and improving access to effective treatment.
As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician within the community clozapine service, you will support those with complex psychosis to ensure the safe, effective and optimal use of medicines. The postholder will work as part of, and support the development of, the community-based clozapine initiation service, building on the success of the pilot in the Exeter area and expanding this to all areas of the Trust.
Timely access to clozapine is currently a clinically unmet need for many patients with complex psychosis in Devon. Reducing the need for an inpatient admission will enable more people to be initiated on the drug and benefit from this highly effective treatment.
This post is offered at Band 6 subject to job evaluation
