qualification that forms part of the nursing family as a registered
practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. It also
forms part of our career pathway to train to become a Registered Mental Health
or Learning Disability Nurse, to enable you to build a career in one of the
UKs most progressive Trusts.
In partnership with Plymouth University, you will join us as a Student Nursing Associate and over two years will undertake the NMC approved
Foundation Degree that leads to the professional qualification.
Alongside the weekly study day with the University which will be take place in
Exeter, you will have dedicated time in your working week to achieve the
required competencies of the role over the course of the Programme

Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
The Nursing Associate
will work as part of the team, delivering evidence based health and social care
that focuses on the holistic needs of service users. They will carry out
specific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by registered
practitioners.
Key Dates
If shortlisted, the recruitment process will involve:
Mandatory attendance at a virtual briefing session, delivered by
the Trust and University of Plymouth. Options available will be 10th or 11thNovember 2025 delivered via MS Teams.
Joint Interviews carried out virtually with the University are
expected to take place W/C 1st December 2025
The academic programme has a start date of March 2026although we will
aim to have apprentices in post within the Trust before this date.
Due
to the current Government eligibility criteria for Government funded
apprenticeship schemes, we are currently only able to accept applications from
candidates over the age of 16 who have been resident in the UK for the last 3
years, and who are not already in any form of Government funded education.
For non-UK based qualifications a ENIC statement of comparability may be required to confirm equivalency to UK qualifications. Where English is studied as a second language, this is not considered comparable to an English Level 2 qualification studied in the UK. Therefore, where this is the case we would require an alternative qualification, such as an IELTS 6.0 or Functional Skills Level 2 English.
