Clinical Team Manager

Job summary

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 7 Clinical Team Manager to work within the East and Mid Home Treatment Team based at Wonford House Hospital, Exeter.

(2 year fixed term contract/ Secondment)

The post holder will be responsible for the effective operational management of the Home Treatment team including line management of staff, financial and performance management. They will use effective leadership, change management and team building skills to monitor, evaluate and develop the service provided.

Main duties of the job

The primary roles and purpose of the team is to provide home treatment, avoiding hospital admission where possible and if admission is indicated, we work with clients throughout this time and endeavour to facilitate early discharge. Essential

  • A professional mental health qualification to degree level or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism.
  • Management qualification.
  • Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.

Knowledge

Essential

  • An excellent understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.

Desirable

  • Awareness of community structures and social care options and processes.
  • Understanding of recovery principles in Mental Health.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems.
  • Substantial experience of working at a senior clinical level.
  • Providing clinical supervision and managing staff.
  • Budget management.

Desirable

  • Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with large groups who may be antagonistic.
