Job summary
Torbay Home Treatment team are seeking a Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner (Nurse). The team are based at Salus ward, Torbay Hospital In Torquay, Devon and the post covers Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
The area covers a wide socio-economic demographic and the team provides home treatment for a range of mental health presentations.
The team accepts referrals for clients of 18 years of age and above.
This is a substantive post (37.5hrs per week) and the teams operational hours are 08.00-22.30hrs at present. Night working may become a part of the teams operational hours in the future dependent on the needs of the service going forward.
Home Treatment services in Devon are undergoing an exciting period of change and reincorporating assessment functions, to once again become Crisis intervention and Home Treatment Teams. This role offers the opportunity for learning and development; providing a firm basis for further progression in both personal and professional arenas.
Applicants will receive regular supervision and be encouraged to develop their skill sets to increase the offer of care they are able to deliver.
This post is open to applications from persons who are qualified as a Mental Health Nurse. Please note that we also welcome applications from those who are newly qualified and are interested in commencing a Preceptorship with us.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will deliver high quality mental health services and will be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
They will be expected to be able to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and their networks and colleagues alike. They will be able to liaise with statutory and non statutory organisations and maintain positive relationships with internal and external agencies and teams.
Applicants are required to be mobile across the area in their roles so must be able to demonstrate the ability to travel to meet the requirements of the role.
