Job summary

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Medical Administrator to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide administrative support to clinical staff, manage patient records, schedule appointments, and act as a key point of contact for patients and professionals. If you have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting healthcare services, wed love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to clinical teams, including typing letters, reports, and clinical documentation.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with data protection and confidentiality policies.
  • Act as a first point of contact for patient and external enquiries, handling telephone calls, emails, and correspondence professionally and sensitively.
  • Support the coordination of meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and circulating documentation as required.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to facilitate smooth communication and service delivery.
  • Support data collection, reporting, and audits to ensure compliance with service standards and targets.

  • RSA 3 Word Processing or equivalent level of experience in practice.
  • NVQ3 in administration or equivalent level administrative knowledge and experience
  • GCSE English or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

Desirable

  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence).
  • Shorthand or Speedwriting
  • AMPSPAR or BSMA Certificate in Medical Terminology or equivalent qualification
