Clinical Pharmacy Technician - Development Opportunity

Job summary

Exciting opportunity to develop your skills to the next level as a clinical pharmacy technician, based within our South Devon team at Torbay Hospital. You will be given the training to successfully carry out this clinical role across adult and older people mental health services. This is a fantastic interbal opportunity for a member of the team to continue to develop skills around the clinical prioritisation aspect to support the Pharmacist and ward teams provide best outcome for our patients.

Main duties of the job

This exciting development opportunity was linked to the Lord Carter report 2018, where Devon Partnership NHS Trust pharmacy team implemented the patient facing clinical role as a pharmacy technician. New and exciting we have been developing the role over the past 5 years, we have 6 clinical pharmacy technicians in post carrying out outstanding work to support patient safety. The role prioritises patients within our care to support NICE guidelines ongoing physical health monitoring who are prescribed antidepressants, mood stabilisers and antipsychotics. This will include reviewing, bloods, NEWS, BMI, Smoking status, Qrisk3 and side effect scales.
