Job summary
An exciting internal opportunity has arisen for a Professional Nurse Educator to join our Practice Education team, based at The Brook, Langdon Hospital, Dawlish. This post is part time/ job share, and we are inviting applications for 14 hours per week to complement the existing postholder.
This pivotal role will facilitate and support the clinical, professional, and educational development of our nursing workforce within the Learning Disability and Autism Unit and Outreach Service. This includes, but is not limited to, registered nurses, student nurses, and healthcare support workers.
You will work closely with clinical teams and educational partners to embed high-quality, evidence-based practice, ensuring care delivery is person-centred and aligned with national and Trust priorities.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about clinical education and professional development. You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a proven ability to support others in applying knowledge to practice within a complex clinical environment.
NMC (LD) registration is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate a programme of clinically relevant practice education to support the professional growth of the nursing team.
- Enable the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care grounded in evidence-based practice.
- Ensure all education and development activities align with national, organisational and Trust guidelines, objectives, and policies.
- Provide expert clinical knowledge and leadership, supporting the translation of theory into practice across the service.
- Act as a visible role model and champion for clinical excellence, promoting best practice across a range of care settings.
- Collaborate with service leads, practice development teams, and academic institutions to enhance the learning environment and improve staff capability and confidence.
