Job summary

We are looking for Support Worker to join the Crisis Housebased in Exeter.

The support worker will provide direct therapeutic engagement to services users in crisis, supporting them in a co-constructed manner, to move away from the crisis point and focus on desired future goals and solution building.

As part of the Crisis House Team, you will develop strong links with carers and other networks to support the service user to develop a co-produced management plan that allows them to contain their current crisis and build on existing skills and community links to further support their future management and wellbeing.

The support worker will assist in the day to day running of the Crisis House environment and will ensure that all service users maintain their activities of daily living.

Main duties of the job

The support worker will be able to support service users with emotional, social, physical and domestic needs. Skilled in engaging both service users and stakeholders and have a good understanding of the needs and diversity of those you will be supporting. Able to demonstrate the ability to work in a therapeutic environment that at times can be challenging.

Responsibility for Patient/Client Care, Treatment and Therapy

  • To be fully aware of each individuals recovery care plan and be involved in clinical formulation and delivery of individuals recovery care plans.
  • Supporting service users to maintain their activities of daily living needs and where required supporting the provision of food, fluids and basic care needs.
  • Participation in the delivery of therapeutic interventions, - assisting / facilitating in the running of group and individual 1-1 activities, offering time in positive activity and engagement.

  • Be able to recognise signs of abuse and know procedures they need to follow to escalate their concerns.
  • To work with carers and families in the development of support plans and onward care and to advocate for the views of both the service users and carers in support planning.
