We are seeking an Inpatient Service Manager to join our Secure Services Directorate Leadership Team based at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish.

The role is dynamic and challenging. As a member of our Secure Services Leadership Team, you will support our Service Director, Clinical Director, Professional Leads and Senior Nurse Managers in providing high quality care to patients by maintaining excellent operational standards and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders primarily within the inpatient service but also the wider directorate and organisations.

Our Directorate is one of the UKs most respected providers of secure mental health services. Based at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish, a 111 acre campus-style site which includes the Dewnans Centre, our medium secure service comprising of four wards and Chichester House our low secure service.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide efficient and effective management of the Inpatient Service based at Langdon Hospital ensuring that maximum use of resources are available to deliver intervention for our patients and staff.

You will be expected to provide a high level of managerial and/or clinical supervision to staff from a variety of professional backgrounds.

You will be accountable for service delivery of the Inpatient LDU, liaising with other agencies as appropriate; including direct care and treatment of patients

In addition you will manage inpatient staff including recruitment, supervision, appraisal and performance working closely with senior nurse managers.

You will have responsibility for managing inpatient LDU budgets, policy and service development and lead on a range of programmes within the Inpatient service, addressing performance and service issues.
