Community Support Worker

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled support worker to join our Home Treatment Team based in Ivybridge

The Team is based in Ivybridge and covers South Hams and West Devon. This is an exciting time to join Home Treatment as the service expands to cover assessment and crisis resolution functions

The right candidate will be supported to undertake training and progress with their career

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting Qualified staff to undertake initial assessments
  • Targeted interventions with service users to support their recovery. ie graded exposure, support to engage with community activities, completing care plans and my future support plans
  • Supporting service users to access other services ie Housing, physical health care

  • NVQ level 3, QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Other evidence of training or development relevant to working within mental health settings

Experience

  • Knowledge of mental health and a basic understanding of physical health presentations.
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles
  • IT skills
  • Previous employment / experience of working with people in a caring situation or previous experience working
  • in a different role within mental health services
  • Previous care experience with people who have Mental Health difficulties.
  • Demonstrate an ability to make and sustain professional therapeutic relationships
  • Good communication and listening skills
