Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a finance officer to join our finance team, working as a cashier at our Langdon Hospital. The role offers flexible working over a minimum of four days, so is suitable for both part and full time candidates.
The role involves supporting the finance team in providing a reliable and effective financial support service to Devon Partnership NHS Trust in respect of the different finance functions.
Ensuring that financial information is processed accurately and in time with financial timescales and legal requirements, interpreting these where necessary.
Investigating enquiries and queries from suppliers/ staff and customers and provide advice and assistance as required.
Main duties of the job
To support the Cash Manager and Assistant Cash Manager in providing an effective and patient focused cashiering service, which meets the requirements of clients, staff and management within a controlled financial framework. Ensuring a safe and separately compliant environment.
Responsible for;
- Daily allocation of patient money transactions, alongside maintaining cashbook records.
- Providing a cash office service, two days a week, servicing ward and patient income and expenditure.
- Completion of bank and ledger reconciliations.
- Co-ordinating purchase cards. This includes requesting new card users, ensuring credit limits are in line with policy and posting month end journals for spend to the ledger.
- Monthly Reporting. This includes collaborating with the wider finance function.
- Providing cover to the wider cashier function during periods of absence.
