Job summary
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a process-oriented, enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our small and busy ESR Support Team. You will be working alongside our existing ESR Team Lead in a flexible arrangement for 6 months, covering both specific projects and team line management as we introduce system expansion and review our background coding and processes to meet wider organisational needs.
The main priority work involves preparing our data and reports for operational workforce planning, working closely with Finance Management Accountants, Finance Systems and Strategic Workforce Business partners to review, amend and more closely align our ESR position structure with Finance account lines and better reflect Directorate/service need. Time will be spent in liaison with senior leads from various different areas to achieve this.
Additional project workstreams to get involved in will include supporting wider workforce system and service improvements such as how changes impact on our e-Rostering and Learning Management systems, plus supporting team managers to get best use out of ESR Self Service.
This is a hybrid working role with the option of some fully-supported home working. You will be working at Langdon Hospital, Dawlish with the ESR Team for one week each month. The contractual base is Wonford House Hospital.

Main duties of the job
Liaise with senior leads within Workforce, Finance and Directorates to discuss and agree approach to alignment, changes required to data and suggest improvements.
Analyse ESR data and information, including the identification and resolution of complex issues (e.g. position duplications, establishment changes, hierarchy structures, background coding) where there may be a range of options for how to resolve. Action the most appropriate resolution.
Plan and manage the implementation of new functionality within the ESR system involving a number of complex activities, including identification and allocation of tasks/activities to ensure the success of the project.
Manage requests for information, allocating work to the team and ensuring processes communicated as required. This will involve working cooperatively with other teams and potential communication of contentious information, e.g. relating to data quality requirements.
Assess, review and test new functionality in ESR in collaboration with key stakeholders. Document proposals as part of implementation planning. Identify barriers and challenges to success and work towards identifying resolutions as appropriate. Discuss data queries with suppliers or stakeholders, including regional networking, disseminating and sharing information.
Communicate information relating to your project workstreams out to key stakeholders, making decisions about what needs to be circulated and to whom, ensuring messages are followed up as appropriate.
