Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Professional to join us to assist in providing an expert specialised Moving and Handling service.
This role will involve developing and managing the Moving and Handling Advisory and Training Service and assisting in the provision of an expert specialised service of training, advice and support regarding the moving and handling of people and objects with a thorough understanding of the principles of the equipment required and Its used in a clinical environment.
As part of this role, you will be working closely with a wider MDT team, which includes Health and Safety experts, physiotherapists, health and well-being services and specialist nurses and OTs, whilst working closely with key stakeholders, including the risk management team to make a real difference to the quality, safety and experience of patients and staff across the trust.
Main duties of the job
The suitable candidate will be able to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for moving and handling. You will support the learning and development program and roll out a program of trust-wide level 1 and 2 manual handling and bespoke ergonomics on a specialist-needs basis with varying patient and staff needs.
It is essential that you are a good communicator and be physically fit enough to perform equipment demonstrations and manoeuvres on a regular basis. You will line manage a moving and handling advisor to assist in your duties and ensure a fit-for-purpose and viable service is provided. In this role, you will be actively involved in maintaining and enhancing safety systems and processes.
Mobility across the organisation is essential as the suitable candidate may be expected to work across the whole trust.
