Job summary
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical Psychologist
to join our friendly and supportive team. This post is full time substantive
position for 37.5hrs per week, working with the Autism assessment service
(DAANA). You do not need to be an expert in ASC, we encourage applicants with a
range of appropriate experience and we will support you to learn in the post.
There are 3 other Clinical Psychologists in the team, Assistant psychologists,
SMHPs and a senior OT. At the time of advert we are working a hybrid model,
working from home and out of our base in Exeter.
It is anticipated that your role will have a
variety of elements supporting and assessing people with ASC. This involves
working with family and friends. We run some brief workshops for people with
ASC to support them following a diagnosis and to help friends and family. We
develop psychoeducational material for people with ASC and are committed to
developing new and innovative ways of engaging and helping this client group.
We expect that this post will support all of these elements of the service. Our
guiding principle is to improve the lives of people with ASC so we often get
involved in innovative ideas to support this client group.
As a team we are enthusiastic about working
with this client group and find the work rewarding and interesting. We work
alongside our colleagues in the ADHD part of the service and have a general
focus on neurodiversity.
Main duties of the job
Providing a high quality
psychological service to the DANA service as a key component of integrated
mental health and wellbeing services to DPT and to community mental health
services
Providing local clinical leadership,
co-ordination and supervision for staff, trainees and volunteers employed by or
attached to the psychology service, under the general direction and supervision
of the Lead Principal Psychologist.
Carrying a specialist caseload of
clients, and providing advice and consultancy to patients, family members,
carers and professionals.
The post holder will be supported by
the Psychology Lead and also by senior colleagues within the DANA Services. The
post holder will be expected to make good use of the expertise of others within
the service to further develop their clinical skills with this client group.
To work autonomously within
professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic
governance of psychological practice within the DANA team.
The post holder will receive regular
professional and clinical supervision in accordance to Trust policy and to
Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the British Psychological Society
or appropriate designated Professional Body.
Observe, and abide by all relevant
Professional Codes of Conduct and Practise including the British Psychological
Society. The post holder will be fully registered with the
Health Professions Council as a condition of employment.
